How many photographs will I get?
The number of photographs ranges from event to event and of course depends on the number of people attending. Encouraging your colleagues to take lots of photos (we can provide hints & tips here) makes a big difference to the number of photos you will receive.
Each of the My Friends Photos cameras can hold upwards of 150 high quality photos.
The multicard reader normally collects as many photos from your guests' personal cameras as the My Friends Photos hire cameras. Its capacity is 40GB and can hold more than 20,000 photographs.
For a 100 person event we estimate you will receive between 800 and 1500 photographs.
By default we remove any non-event photographs.
How will you send me the cameras?
The week before the event, on a pre-arranged day, you will receive the My Friends Photos camera pack via registered mail, direct to your office. The pack contains the cameras, the multicard reader, the memory cards and spare batteries. We also provide a pre-paid registered return post bag. After the event, please put the cameras back into the box and place in the post bag provided and pop it in the post. Please note a late fee of $50 applies if the box is not posted by three days after the event - please discuss with us before your event if this is going to be difficult.
How do I make the best of this service?
To make the most of the service, we suggest you tell your colleagues up front you have organised My Friends Photos to provide a multicard reader and digital camera hire at the upcoming event. Invite them to clear out their memory cards before the event and take lots of photographs!
A mention by the event organiser on the day also really helps. If you are hiring the multicard reader, we suggest introducing the "photo getter" to your colleagues at the beginning of the evening.
What happens if I damage, break or lose a camera?
We provide insurance which covers you in the event of an accident or loss of camera. If a camera is unfit to be sent to the next client or is not returned to us, an excess of $80 will be charged. Replacement cost for the rechargeable batteries is $20 per pair. Replacement cost for memory cards is $25 per card. (Bond options are available on request.) What if my colleagues have personal photographs on their cameras?
We encourage you to prepare your colleagues (see How do I make the best of this service?) by sending them a note in the event invitation asking them to remove all their other photos from their memory stick. However, if they forget, no problem! Before we burn your disc, we simply delete all non-event photos from the copy we take. Your friends' privacy is very important to us so all personal photos are permanently deleted from the copy we take.

Do you do non-corporate events?
Yes, we do weddings and milestone birthdays (such as 1,18,21,30,40,50,60).
