How many photographs will I get?

The number of photographs ranges from wedding to wedding and of course depends on the number of guests. Encouraging your guests to take lots of photos (we can provide hints & tips here) makes a big difference to the number of photos you will receive.

Each of the My Friends Photos cameras come with 512mb card and can hold upwards of 150 high quality photos.

The memory card copier normally collects even more photos from your friends' personal cameras than the My Friends Photos hire cameras. Its capacity is 40GB and can hold more than 20,000 photographs.

For a 100 guest wedding we estimate you will receive between 800 and 1500 photographs.

What editing do you do?

By default we remove any non-wedding photographs. However, if you would like all the photographs to be copied then please let us know and we will arrange that for you.

How will you send me the cameras?

The week before the wedding, on a pre-arranged day, you will receive the My Friends Photos camera pack via registered mail, direct to your door. The pack contains the cameras, the memory card copier, the memory cards and spare batteries. We also provide a pre-paid registered return post bag. After the wedding, please put the cameras back into the box and place in the post bag provided and pop it in the post. Please note a late fee of $40 applies if the box is not posted by three days after the event - please discuss with us before your wedding if this is going to be difficult.

How do I make the best of this service?

To make the most of the service, we suggest you tell your friends up front you have organised My Friends Photos to provide a card reader and digital camera hire at the wedding. Let them know via your wedding invitation (we can provide a small and elegant information note). Invite them to clear out their memory cards before the wedding and take lots of photographs before, during and after the ceremony for your album.

A mention by the best man or MC on the day also really helps. We suggest introducing the person given the task of copying the photos to your guests at the beginning of the evening.

What happens if I break or lose a camera?

We provide insurance which covers you in the event of an accident or loss of camera. If a camera is unfit to be sent to the next client or is not returned to us, an excess of $50 will be charged. Replacement cost for memory cards is $20 per card. (Bond options are available on request.) Please see our Terms and Conditions for more information.

What if my friends have personal photographs on their cameras?

We strongly encourage you to prepare your friends (see How do I make the best of this service?) by sending them a note in the wedding invitation asking them to remove all their other photos from their memory stick. We reserve the right to remove what we believe to be non-wedding photos if there are space constraints on the disc - however, by default we will not remove any non-wedding photos.

Where do you operate?

We are a national organisation and provide this postal service throughout Australia.

Do you do non-wedding events?

Yes, we do corporate events (such as conferences or festivals) and milestone birthdays (such as 1,18,21,30,40,50,60).
